Our GPS tracking system can recognise location, movement, speed and direction of the person, vehicle or asset carrying the GPS tracking device.

How does our GPS tracking system work?
1. GPS satellites orbiting the earth transmit radio signals that can be detected by tracking devices containing GPS receivers.
2. The real time position of the tracking device carried by workers, vehicles or assets is identified through the signal received from at least three satellites. This process is called trilateration. The tracking device’s position, speed and direction are identified by the time delay between transmission and receipt of the satellite’s GPS signal.
3. The tracking device records this data and relays it via a wireless communications network.
4. The data is transmitted to Locating Technologies’ secure hosted service centre*.
5 & 6. Customers retrieve the real-time tracking data through the Internet by logging onto Locating Technologies’ secure website*. The data is configured into easy-to-read reports using Trailblazer™ GPS Application Software.
* The steps described in points 4, 5 and 6 apply to our Trailblazer™ GPS Hosted Solution. For our Trailblazer™ GPS Enterprise Solution, the data is transmitted directly to the customer’s server and analysed by them in-house using Trailblazer™ GPS Application Software.

The safety of your personnel and security of your vehicles and assets are also improved through the inclusion of a panic alarm button (in our Personal Tracker and In-vehicle Trackers) and an alarm feature (in our In-vehicle Tracker and Asset Tracker) that will alert you if the tracking device is tampered with or the vehicle or asset is moved without authorisation.
